I loosely based this character off a friend I have with the same name. Though he lets me know not to worry about offending him, I still sometimes feel hamstrung toward how to develop this character. It’s not him I’m thinking of when I write for “Cory”.
If you’re developing a comic strip and you’re not sure whether to use a friend as a character, don’t. As creators, we typically (I know I do) use different parts of our personality to fill out the character traits of our comic’s stars. If you make them all up, you don’t hurt anyone’s feelings and don’t have to feel bad when you take the training wheels off.
